According to Cushman & Wakefield Research:
“The aerospace industry has seen significant growth in North America over the last decade, particularly in the commercial sector. Despite a slowdown in the global economy, and although oil prices have fallen, demand for new and more fuel-efficient commercial aircraft is still up. Additionally, the unprecedented backlog of civil aircraft orders will likely fuel further industry growth over the next several years.
The aerospace industry remains one of the most important sectors in the U.S. and aerospace industry leads the United States in the net export of manufactured goods. Sales of commercial aircraft again paced the industry’s sales growth. Aerospace exports maintained an upward trend, improving by nearly $8.1 billion, with this growth mainly in the civil sector. Exports of civil aircraft, engines and parts continue to represent about 88% of all aerospace exports.”
